Sunrise Summer School Concluded at European University Cyprus
European University Cyprus successfully hosted the Blended Intensive Program (BIP) – Sunrise Summer School, which took place from July 14 to 19, 2025, bringing together international students and faculty for a vibrant week of academic and cultural exchange.
The program was officially opened by Professor Andreas Efstathiou, Rector of European University Cyprus, and Professor Loizos Symeou, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs. Both warmly welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of international cooperation and innovation in higher education.
This edition of the Sunrise Summer School brought together a dynamic and diverse group of 22 students from SUNRISE partner universities in Italy, Germany, France, and Portugal, as well as a visiting instructor from Portugal. They were joined by 15 participants from China, representing Minjiang University and Nanjing University, all united by a common interest in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Throughout the week, participants followed an intensive schedule of interactive lectures, hands-on workshops, and team-based AI project development, covering key topics such as machine learning fundamentals, cybersecurity, intelligent multi-agent systems, and AI applications in the context of GDPR. All academic sessions were held in Room 012, led by EUC faculty and invited experts from partner institutions.
The program was organized within the framework of the SUNRISE university alliance, highlighting the strategic importance of such initiatives for fostering collaboration, innovation, and shared expertise across European and global higher education institutions.
