Online Research Seminar | Friday, 13th | 10:00 CET

February 13 @ 10:0011:00

We are pleased to announce an upcoming SUNRISE online seminar focused on measuring the impact of collaboration in research and innovation. The seminar will take place on Friday the 13th at 10:00 (CET) and is open to researchers, practitioners, project managers, and all those interested in evaluating collaborative work.

About the seminar

Collaboration plays a central role in contemporary research and innovation ecosystems, yet its impact is often difficult to assess using traditional evaluation methods. This seminar will explore how collaboration can be measured more effectively, taking into account not only outputs and metrics, but also processes, relationships, and longer-term outcomes.

Participants will gain insights into:

  • qualitative and quantitative approaches to measuring collaboration,
  • challenges and limitations of existing impact metrics,
  • practical examples from collaborative research projects,
  • frameworks that support meaningful evaluation of collaborative practices.

Speakers

The seminar will be presented by SUNRISE researchers Dr. Leonel Nunes (PUVC) and Dr. Britta Nordin Forsberg (MDU), who bring hands-on experience in collaborative research and impact assessment. Drawing on their work within the SUNRISE project, the speakers will share concrete methods and reflections relevant to both academic and applied research contexts.

Who should attend?

This seminar is particularly relevant for:

  • researchers involved in collaborative or interdisciplinary projects,
  • research managers and coordinators,
  • evaluation and impact assessment professionals,
  • policy makers and innovation practitioners,
  • anyone interested in research collaboration, impact measurement, and evaluation methodologies
  • Practical information
    • Date: Friday, 13th
    • Time: 10:00 (CET)
    • Format: Online seminar
    • Project: SUNRISE

Why measuring the impact of collaboration matters

As collaborative research becomes the norm rather than the exception, understanding how collaboration creates value is essential for institutions, funders, and research teams. This seminar contributes to ongoing discussions on improving evaluation practices and supporting more sustainable, transparent, and effective collaboration in research and innovation.
