Annual Meeting SUNRISE & Connect for Global Impact

Mälardalen University invites you to the Annual Meeting of the SUNRISE Alliance (Smaller Universities Network for Regional Innovative and Sustainable Evolution) — a key European gathering focused on collaboration, student mobility, and shared strategic development in education, research and regional innovation.
The meeting takes place within the broader framework of Connect for Global Impact, a joint initiative combining:

the European University Alliance SUNRISE

the MDU Global Impact Forum
Together, these platforms create a shared space for dialogue, collaboration and co-creation addressing global challenges, with sustainability at the core.
Participants include researchers, students and representatives from academia, industry, the public sector and civil society from across Europe, India and Sweden.
Focus Areas
The programme explores five central themes:

Quadruple Helix collaboration – partnerships between academia, industry, government and civil society

Sustainable energy and water – from technological development to societal implementation

AI and human–technology relations – ethics, use and trust

Democracy and societal development – participation, legitimacy and resilience

Social and organisational innovation – enabling structures for lasting change
Participants can expect keynote lectures, best-practice case studies, panel discussions and presentations by researchers and students from Europe and India.

19 May – Annual Meeting SUNRISE
Dedicated to the strategic development of the Alliance, European collaboration, mobility and long-term academic partnerships.
Open also to participants beyond the SUNRISE Alliance.
20–21 May – MDU Global Impact Forum
Dialogue and co-creation platform focused on societal impact.
Special guest: IIT Bombay – Welingkar Institute of Management.
