Sunrise Alliance Supports Youth Debate Initiative in Mostar

The 9th debate competition held at the Faculty of Law of the Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar brought together high school and university students in a dynamic exchange of ideas, focused on strengthening critical thinking, argumentation, and public speaking skills.

Organized by the Faculty of Law, the Student Union, and the Law Students Association, the event was supported by the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sunrise Alliance. As a committed partner, Sunrise Alliance continues to promote youth engagement, active participation, and democratic values through educational and dialogue-based initiatives across the region.

The final round of the competition took place on April 3, 2026, featuring a debate on the motion: “Youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina are politically apathetic.” In a compelling exchange of arguments, the team from Gymnasium Bugojno emerged victorious over the Medical School Mostar.

The title of best debater was awarded to Nadža Karadža, recognizing exceptional skill in argumentation and public speaking.

This event highlights the importance of debate as a tool for empowering young people, fostering open dialogue, and strengthening democratic culture. Sunrise Alliance is proud to support initiatives that equip youth with the skills and confidence needed to actively participate in shaping their communities and future.
