Students Sprint 2026 An intensive innovation sprint for students

Students Sprint is an intensive five-day innovation sprint organised by the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano in collaboration with NOI Techpark.
Interdisciplinary teams of bachelor’s and master’s students work on real innovation challenges proposed by companies, under the guidance of innovation experts, researchers, and design thinking facilitators.
The Sprint follows the Google Design Sprint methodology, covering the full process from problem understanding and ideation to prototyping, validation, and final pitching of solutions to companies and a jury.

23–27 February 2026

23–26 February: 09:00–18:00 (including lunch break)

27 February: 09:00–13:00 – final pitches and closing session

Venue

NOI Techpark, Bolzano (Italy)
Activities take place across different NOI Techpark spaces and laboratories, including prototyping facilities such as the Maker Space and other innovation labs. Several activities run in parallel throughout the Sprint.

Target Group

  • Bachelor’s students (2nd–3rd year) and Master’s students

  • Open to all disciplines and partner universities

  • Maximum 50 students, organised into interdisciplinary teams of 3–5 participants

  • Selection based on competences and experience, motivation, and grade average

Indicative Agenda

  • Day 1: Kick-off, introduction to companies and innovation challenges, team formation, introduction to Google Design Sprint and design thinking tools

  • Day 2: Problem understanding, user analysis, challenge reframing, initial ideation sessions

  • Day 3: Ideation, concept selection, rapid prototyping using NOI Techpark facilities

  • Day 4: Prototype testing, solution validation, refinement of value proposition and business model

  • Day 5: Final pitch preparation and presentations to companies and jury, award ceremony, and closing session
