Mälardalen University (Swedish: Mälardalens universitet), or MDU, is a modern Swedish university with campuses in Västerås and Eskilstuna. Home to 19,000 students and approximately 1,000 employees – including 91 professors, 504 teachers, and 244 doctoral students – MDU plays a vital role in Swedish higher education. The university holds the distinction of being the world’s first environmentally certified school under the international ISO 14001 standard, reflecting its strong commitment to sustainability.
